2023 – 2024 年主席致辭和活動報告

主席致辭:

尊敬的各位來賓、女士們、先生們：

我很榮幸在上任後的一年中向大家致辭。回顧這不平凡的一年，香港在疫情後面臨新的發展，許多行業面臨成本高企、租金上升、人力資源短缺和人口老齡化等嚴峻問題。在疫情的幾年裡，我們的生活發生了重大改變，從在家工作、視頻會議到網上購物，大家習慣了外賣等新的生活方式,這些都顯示我們需要改變。為了迎接中國香港及大灣區的未來發展,為會員和年輕一代會員提供在新環境中平等的機會和發展空間,我們必須為此做好準備。因此,我們開始了一些變革,積極參與工程界和社會事務,從中更清楚未來的發展方向，也可以為會員和年輕一代提供相關的信息和路徑。

在過去一年裡,我們拜訪了深圳市科學技術協會,瞭解大灣區未來的發展和科技進程，以及港澳地區及其年青一代在大灣區的定位和機遇。我們還參與了香港特區政府的財政預算專業議會諮詢大會，為政府提供意見；也參與了創新科技及工業局投資推廣署、工業貿易署所舉辦的活動。

我們的網絡總監林站長(Webmaster) 努力更新了本會的網站，建構與會員良好溝通平台。副主席盧先生的帶領下與會員主任吳先生一直在努力，保持與會員的密切聯繫，更新會員通訊資料。這樣我們就能及時透過電郵，向會員傳遞政府部門的即時信息，如勞工處、職安局、一帶一路辦公室通訊及憲法和基本法推廣督導委員會工商專業界等。我亦藉此機會，請各位會員通知其他會員，更新他們的電郵地址和聯絡電話，以便我們能夠及時向大家發送本會的資訊並與大家保持聯繫。

在此次周年會議上，理事會已通過更換新的會員及註冊工程經理證書，請各位會員盡快完成更新。

Chairman’s Message

Respected guests, ladies and gentlemen:

I am honored to deliver this speech. Looking back on this extraordinary year, Hong Kong is facing new development challenges after the pandemic, with many industries facing severe problems such as high costs, rising rents, labor shortages, and an aging population. In the past few years of the pandemic, our lives have undergone major changes, from working from home, video conferencing to online shopping – we have become accustomed to new lifestyles like food delivery. These changes show that we need to adapt. In order to meet the future development of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, and to provide our members and the younger generation of members with equal opportunities and development space in the new environment, we must prepare for this. Therefore, we have initiated some reforms, actively participating in the engineering industry and social affairs, so that we can better understand the future development direction, and also provide relevant information and paths for our members and the younger generation.

Over the past year, we have visited the Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology to understand the future development and technological progress of the Greater Bay Area, as well as the positioning and opportunities of Hong Kong, Macao and the younger generation in the Greater Bay Area. We also participated in the Budget Professional Consultation Forum organized by the HKSAR Government to provide advice; and participated in activities organized by Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, Trade and Industry Department.

Our webmaster, Mr. Lam has worked hard to update the association’s website and build a good communication platform with our members. Under the leadership of our Vice-Chairman Mr. Lo and Membership Officer Mr. Ng, they have been working hard to maintain close contact with our members and update their contact information. This allows us to timely convey the latest information from government departments such as the Labour Department, Occupational Safety and Health Council, the Belt and Road Office, and Working Group on Industrial, Commercial and Professional Sectors Constitution and Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee to our members via email. I also take this opportunity to request that all members notify other members to update their email addresses and contact numbers, so that we can timely send information from our association and maintain contact with everyone.

At this annual general meeting, the Council approved the new membership and Registered Professional Engineering Manager (R.P.E.M) certificates. I urge all members to complete the update as soon as possible.
