Chairman’s message (2014 – 2016)
Dear Members and Friends
Since 1997, the Hong Kong Institution of Incorporated Engineers (HKIIE) have committed to making contribution to the engineering profession and society consistently through continued professional developments, study-programme sponsorship and knowledge sharing with other professional and academic institutions and organizations. As I write, the HKIIE has been active in various public and private activities and events, and senior, experienced members shared their engineering expertise with some other professional bodies in the field of engineering, technology and construction. Through the dedication of previous Chairmen Mr. Tom Law, Mr. Albert Tam and Ir. Johnson Lau and the Council Members, the objectives of the HKIIE have then been fulfilled.
Today, I am delighted to talk to you directly in my first message as Chairman of the HKIIE for year 2014 to 2016. It is my honour for me to serve in this post, and I would like to acknowledge the accomplishments and much effort of our Immediate Past Chairman Ir Johnson Lau and the Council Members by upraising members’ status and publicity; whereas, I will carry out the work that they have started and endeavor to keep HKIIE for sustainable development.
At the 8th Annual General Meeting on 5th of July, it was an enjoyable evening for all. We congratulated Mr. C. P. Yu as our Honorary Advisor in this occasion. With the support from our fellow members and members of Guangzhou Association of Engineers (GAE), I have been appointed as Guangzhou-Hong Kong Liaison Officer of GAE.
I hope the above message could gives you a direction of what the HKIIE is heading over the next two years. I am looking forward to seeing you in the future events with all your unfailing support.
